Review/Wishlist Update: Heart of Haute Strawberry Skirt

In my very first Wishlist Wednesday post, I shared one of my most-wanted strawberry-print items: the twirl skirt from Heart of Haute. Well, I'm pleased to report that in my ongoing quest to fill my entire wardrobe with fruit prints, I got my hands on it!

I absolutely cannot resist the temptation to go all-in with the strawberry theme whenever I wear anything strawberry-printed, and this outfit is no exception! While I bought the green Doris top from Pinup Girl Clothing to wear with my orange-border Jenny skirt, it also seemed like the ideal top to pair with this lovely photorealistic skirt! I also threw on my favorite earrings of all time and my super-comfy red heels for a rainy-day photoshoot in the lobby.

While I went with green, so as to look like a strawberry myself, I think this skirt would also look great with mint-green, white, black, or even aqua for an unexpected color twist.

Seriously, look at the detail!

As you can see, this skirt is practically perfect for a petite strawberry-print fan! It hits me just below the knee, and as a half-circle skirt, it looks cute with or without a petticoat. While it's currently sold out in this print, there are a zillion other colors and prints in this style and now I want them all!

I've reviewed Heart of Haute before, and I found the quality of this skirt to be just as high as the daisy dress I have. It's well-made and the print is incredibly vibrant in person. I found that this skirt runs truer to size than the Sweetie dress I have: I ordered a large and the waistband measures 15.25" flat, putting it  squarely in the middle of the measurements listed for a large on their size chart.

By the time I ordered this skirt, they were sold out of my size (though they still had a small), but I emailed them to ask if they could do a cut-to-order skirt for me, and happily, they said they could! This is one of the best things about Heart of Haute: they're often able to make a piece to order if they still have the fabric but it's sold out in the necessary size. It actually didn't take that long, either: it was less than three weeks from ordering to receiving the skirt.

The other best thing about Heart of Haute is that all their clothing is made in the USA, which means a lot in my book. It's nice not to feel horribly guilty about the conditions under which your skirt was made! Overall, I'm so glad I snagged this before it disappeared, and if you're eyeing any of Heart of Haute's twirl skirts, I wholeheartedly think you should pick one up!

    1. Thank you! I really don't know why I waited so long to buy it…I basically knew as soon as I saw it that I'd eventually add it to the ridiculously large and growing fruit-print part of my life.
